Travel Website has been trying to get in contact with the correct person at the hotel to see if we can get our money refunded. My husband was hospitalized and had to have surgery so he couldn't travel for 10 days. I have a note from the doctor and the hospital papers to prove it. The hotel is giving Travel Website a huge run around. The "person" that they need to talk with is never available. I guess it will just be a battle of the wills at this point. So far, this hotel gets a zero for their customer service.

Do not EVER stay here!!! The service was horrible!!!! We had to wait to have our bags put in the store room, then we had to wait to have them taken out. At one point the receptionist told us to go get the man outside with the key. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, the water did not run properly, and the shower tub was really dirty. In fact, the whole place was dirty. Our window overlooked the middle of two buildings and the area was really dirty too. We did not even have proper towels. The building is old and ugly too.

Room was small; no coffee maker; no glasses; no ice bucket, no kleenex, gap under door, noise through walls. Walls in bath were swollen from previous water damage, towel rack was hung by a single screw and not secure. Safety latch on door was held (not held) by a sinle screw poorly anchored. People sleeping in the halls. Desk clerk was mildly unfriendly. The only thing this hotel has going for it is location.

I made a reservation for this hotel under duress when a travel host said they could not accomodate us. I then found a more suitable alternative and cancelled this prepaid reservation a full 4 days in advance. They refuse to refund ANY of the $* plus i paid! I do not object to administrative charges but this is superbowl weekend..there are lots of guests looking for rooms in miami and they had 3 weeks to play with my money via the credit card payment. Caveat emptor. This is sleazy price gouging at its worst. I have never heaard of a non refundable hotel rate but it seems to be acceptable practice to travel online. I will report to the national geographic travel editor and cancel my travel online account. i'd rather deal with a human travel agent or deal direct with the hotel/air carrier/car rental from now on.
